Sony calls this an "SLT" camera rather than an SLR, thanks to its unusual optical system: the mirror is a fixed, translucent component that transmits most of the light to the sensor, and bounces a small portion up to the viewfinder housing, where a traditional phase based system runs the autofocus system.
