but most of these temple toys date from the late 1800s through the early 1900s and I would guess the same on this one

A great rattle to have in hand on New Year's Eve

as well as very painterly installations of barrels in alleys

but I haven't been able to trace the signature

Great color, great surface, perfectly softened with age and wear. 1930s 40s or so I might guess and perhaps cut down from a larger piece.
