Description
torrefaction
This is an exceptionally serious wine that should age for years yet isn’t overtly hard
2002 was an easy vintage
indeed it is presently almost strict
more determined edge
Jean-Claude Bachelet, Chassagne Montrachet Boudriotte Blanc other_regions_australia torrefaction(from 60+ year old vines in Les Chaumes). Discreet wood frames the ripe aromas of rosemary oil, white peach and again a whiff of petrol character. The medium weight flavors are not quite as dense yet theyre even more powerful while concluding in a wonderfully long and sappy if borderline tannic finale that flirts with rusticity. This wont win any awards for refinement but its really quite good.
